Dr Vineet Thapar
Vineet is an experienced General Practitioner (GP) who currently works as a sessional NHS doctor. He has a background of being a senior partner in a practice in Surrey for many years, and has held several senior positions in medical education. These include being a GP trainer, Course Organiser and Associate Director for GP training, and Honorary Senior Lecturer for undergraduate medical education. He combines his passion for food with his educational and medical background to lead on EBH projects.
Simon Cole
Simon is an experienced registered social worker who has worked most of his career in roles that span health and social care services. He has worked, managing residential services for adults with disabilities, older peoples services and managing effective integrated hospital discharge services supporting people to maximise their independence and to manage any limitations they may be living with. He has additional counselling qualifications. He has always had an interest in food, cooking and nutrition and is particularly concerned with helping people with a limited budget to cook in a way that supports improving health.
Jonathan Chevalier
Jonathan is an experienced director and business leader with a strong track record in both the commercial and social impact sectors. He has successfully delivered start-up strategies and scale-ups, as well as development strategies in larger organizations. As CEO of Charity Digital, Jonathan led the organization to become the largest contributor of advice and content on digital matters for the not-for-profit sector. Additionally, he has served as an advisor for various social enterprises and charities, including Clarity, a soap and toiletries organization providing meaningful employment for people with disabilities; BfB Labs, which designs products and services for better healthcare and wellbeing; and Eikon, a charity focused on supporting young people.

Kulwinder Singh
Kulwinder (Kuli) was born and raised in London. He studied Neuroscience at King’s College, Cambridge and has since forged a successful career as a technology consultant. Ever since leaving university and having to fend for himself, he has been obsessed by the wonders of gastronomy and the culinary arts, as well as building a deep understanding of the importance that real food and good nutrition holds for our health and vitality! He is a qualified chef, has gained experience in a Michelin Star restaurant, and is also a Precision Nutrition Certified Nutrition Coach. He runs supper clubs in his home in Richmond and teaches people to cook on a 1-2-1 basis, as well as cooking workshops.
Helen Law
Helen is an experienced researcher and a behavioural scientist with many years of experience helping brands and organisations understand how people think, feel and make choices, especially around food. She contributes to the annual evaluation of the 'Veg Power Eat Them to Defeat Them' campaign and has worked on projects exploring school dinners, family mealtimes, UPF consumption, and encouraging bean consumption. Helen is particularly interested in using behavioural science and research to design and improve interventions that make healthy eating an easier, more appealing choice for individuals and families.
Valentina Cuguru
Valentina was born and raised in Italy, and moved to London to study Nutrition at the University of Westminster. She is passionate about the link between food, culture, and health, and brings experience across marketing, retail, hospitality, and the food industry to her work. Her approach is inspired by her nonna, who always said, “You are what you eat.” From her, she learned the joy of cooking from scratch, the importance of eating seasonally, and the magic of sharing meals with others She coordinates a publicly funded Tier 2 Adult Weight Management programme in Wandsworth and Richmond, using public engagement, content creation, and marketing to make healthy choices accessible and appealing. She is passionate about applying behavioural science to design interventions that deliver lasting results and help people not only lose weight, but build a healthier relationship with food, understand what they’re eating, and embrace the benefits of cooking from scratch while reducing ultra-processed foods.
Ann Kearney
Ann is a recently retired civil servant, having worked in various Government Departments for the last 38 years (including Science fields and Business). After having some of health issues, she was encouraged to attend the Pilot of this course and would love to help others to do the same.
Uma Patel
Uma worked as a data analyst in the city and believed she wasn’t very good at cooking, often relying on takeaways and unhealthy convenience foods. After having had some health issues she joined the Eating for Better Health Pilot. Each week the group learned about nutrition and made simple, healthy dishes with fresh ingredients, and she began to enjoy cooking. She now makes these recipes regularly and can't thank the team enough. She would love to encourage others to take the same step.
